London Calling: Vero Moda is on it's way!

I came across European brand Vero Moda about three years ago. A friend from Ireland had a few pieces from their collection and it was love at first sight. Ever since I have longed for the day that I will be able to saunter into one of their stores whenever I like, that day is almost here.
On 4th November, Vero Moda are launching their London flagship at 179 Oxford Street, London and I can't wait! I will of course attend the launch and give you the low down of the store, the collection and of course my wish list! Be one of the first to get to the new store on the 4th and you could get one of their coveted gold bags which entitles you to a free outfit!
Their AW collection is directional and lust-worthy, whilst being easy on my new vintage purse so I am getting ready for some serious shopping.

If that wasn't enough excitement, I have been lucky enough to receive some pieces from the Vero Moda Very collection pre the launch, (is that faint squeals of jealously I hear?!). I received the beautiful box yesterday and I will be playing dress-up this evening so keep your eyes peeled for a peak into my wardrobe and the new collection on the blog tomorrow.
Our Vero Moda sources are encouraging us to pick up a copy of the Metro tomorrow "for a little Vero Moda surprise" now if that's not a reason to get out of bed in the morning, I don't know what is.

Coco Spotted...

I have just come across this shot of myself at fashion week on FiveFiveFabulous.com, (gosh that seems so long ago now), I forgot how much I love this faux-fur caplet so thought I'd share it with you, I'm off to go and dig this out of my wardrobe!

My Girl Lollipop...

Some shots from a recent shoot I have styled...

SHRIVAN NARRESH SS11

I have recently stumbled across womenswear label, Shrivan Narresh. With their clean, minimal lines and structured shapes the pieces from the SS11 collection are almost futuristic. I was lucky enough to have a look through their lookbook and have pulled out a few of my favourite looks for a lunchtime visual treat for you.

I have totally fallen for the day shirt, so clean and simple.

The draped corset dress is innovative yet elegant and really wearable.

Make a statement in the polyurethane foam coat. So it's a little out there but by god it is amazing!

But, there is one thing from the SS11 collection which is at the very top of my wish list and that is the tote with detachable cane mat. Yes that's right, this little wardrobe wonder just got even cuter, the mat is completely detachable, perfect for a day in the park or at the beach. LOVE IT.
With their recognisable design style, it's no wonder that designers behind the label, Shrivan Bhatia and Narresh Kukreja have had their designs featured in the Indian editions of Vogue, Elle, Harper's and many more.

Matthew Williamson book launch...

Apologies my wonderful readers for the delay with this post as I did attend the event last week but hey, that's life so just enjoy it now!
Last week I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Matthew Williamson's new book. The book is to celebrate Williamson's 13 year career and Somerset House are holding an exhibition featuring some of the beautiful shots and quotes from the contributors. These are not just any contributors but the likes of Sienna Miller, Anna Wintour, Alexandra Shulman and many more have all put pen to paper in ode to the designer so it's well worth a visit, plus - it's free!
So for the launch I had to tackle the cobbles of Somerset House once again, (I thought I had put that one to rest until next fashion week but hey ho!). I went for an all black number, (always a safe and chic bet with the fashion set).

The event was great, Williamson of course was in attendance with muse and friend Sienna Miller. Miller looked stunning in a beautiful floor length, blue gown from Williamson's SS11 collection.

Get in my wardrobe...Angel Jackson

I have recently stumbled across luxury label Angel Jackson. Launched by sisters Katie and Millie Smith in 2005, Angel Jackson is the epitome of brit-cool and right up my style street. The pieces are the perfect balance between edge and luxe and are real show stoppers. They are an excellent way to add that special something to a casual weekend look or to top off that glam look to hit the front row of a show.
I couldn't possibly tell you my favourites from the A/W collection as I have fallen for every single ethically sourced, well crafted, beautifully cool piece. Here are a few shots from the campaign for you to feast your eyes on...

(Loving the fringe and feathers)

Featured in every fashion bible around from Vogue to InStyle it's high time you (and I) bring a little Angel Jackson into our lives.

Puma, Here's to the after dark athlete...

I was fortunate enough to attend the launch of Puma's new campaign on Tuesday. Here's To The After Dark Athlete is Puma's new stab at bringing social networking to a brand. The dedicated area on their site allows the viewer to create a profile, shop the collection and connect with others. They have created a viral video to go with the campaign and it's well worth checking out, click here to do so!

Jodie Harsh was there, spinning electro mixes of classic house tracks while guests enjoyed free
booze and bowling.

Hendrix in Britain

I visited the Hendrix in Britain exhibition last week and I hate to say it but it was a little dissapointing. I'm not sure what I was expecting? Perhaps I thought I'd walk in to see a half empty bottle of whisky next to a round bed in a room covered in tapestries and notepaper with handwritten lyrics on while the air smelt of incense? Well, if that was what I was expecting I was wrong! The former Mayfair flat of the legendary guitarist is now the office for the Handel House Museum. With this in mind there was still something special about walking around the former stomping ground of someone so influencial.
The exhibition had some amazing pieces in it including a custom made Gibson Flying V guitar used to play his infamous version of Red House at the Isle of Wight festival in 1970, original tickets and tour posters, a beautiful velvet jacket and one of his famous soft brimmed hats, complete with purple scarf tied around the brim.
Photography is prohibited in the exhibition but I have sourced a few shots of the man himself to make up for it. His style is so often copied but never replicated...
