LOVE: Stevie Nicks...

Beautiful, talented and down-right cool. As one of the original pioneers of that effortless, boho vibe, Nicks is my festival wardrobe inspiration.

The Mystery...

Found this image whilst being glued to The Selby's book (a special thanks to The Boy for an excellent Christmas book choice).

Look De Jour: Neutrals and Faux Fur...

So as I'm sure we all know, chic neutrals are BIG for SS11. So here is my January-friendly take on the trend.

Due to temperatures dropping below minus this weekend, the outfit called for a little (faux) fur. LOVE this vintage coat.

Londoners and The Underground

This post is not going to be brimming with fashion talk, it's more of a rant than an informative, witty piece but I'm sure some of you will relate to it...

After a relatively pain-free work day I made my way home. I have been working way out west recently and living east means the journey when the tubes are running normally is quite long.
Today even was longer...
After waiting for 10 minutes for a District Line train, it appears but terminates at Earls Court- oh goodie. I then get another tube to Holborn where I waited for three trains to pass before I finally made it onto a Central Line train which can only be described as hell on earth.

Delays and cancellations bring out two different types of people in London. The first are the type that chat to their neighbour about the delays and pull together in an almost war type manner. The other is the angry person, the person that is hot, has been standing for half an hour with an elbow in their back after a long day at work. I have been both types many times, today I was the first (hence the ability to even write about the journey - usually my rage doesn't permit this).

Being on the happy side of the carriage enabled me to realise and ponder these two types of people. Whilst standing with my neck at a right angle (5 foot 8 and wearing heels whilst being squeezed into the doorway of the tube enables this) I saw it all.
The overly tanned, make up counter girl getting very huffy and mouthy with the tired dad who had no room. The balding banker blatantly ignoring the very elderly lady who really deserved the comfort of his seat more than him and the Shoreditch idiot flicking his curly crop into people's faces (surely there is more than one hair cut out there for you guys?) and the two strangers coming together to get through the hideousness.
Well, I made it- thank god. I'm home after almost losing not only my sanity but my new handbag in the scrummage.

Behind the Scenes: Random Magazine Shoot...

A few behind the scenes shots from the shoot today. What a great day...fab photographer, fab model and fab hair and make-up artist (and maybe the styling wasn't too bad either!). Full shots to come.

A small selection of the jewellery I pulled for the shoot...
Some of the shoes, glorious shoes...
Hair and make-up...
We encountered a bit of drama early in the day...we were evacuated and the fire brigade turned up, as I dashed out of the studio for safety, I realised what I had left behind and grabbed all the shoes I could (just in case).
Happy Sunday readers, I hope the week ahead brings you style and sunshine.

Woo Woo for Jimmy Choo...

I'm styling a shoot for Random Magazine tomorrow so my flat was call-in crazy yesterday. Check out these bad ass shoes from Jimmy Choo. Outrageously incredible if only I could keep them!

Shopping: Buy My Wardrobe Event

Following the success of their last event the wardrobe mistresses (otherwise known as stylists and industry insiders with fabulous style and brimming wardrobes) of Buy My Wardrobe are opening their doors once again on Saturday 29th Jan.
The event is being held at the Adam Street Members Club, Adam St, London, WC2H 6AA. All you need to know is on their website.
Each wardrobe mistress will have their own boutique-style stand packed full with pre-loved pieces from the likes of Chanel, Gucci and Vivienne Westwood (to name a few!). My wonderful friend, Sarah-Leigh snagged a pair of Miu Miu shoes last time so it's well worth a visit.

Heart Halston

I have a new penchant for Halston.
It's not that I have previously disliked the brand but I have turned into a definite fan of late. Their pieces are pretty and feminine (not the first two adjectives I would use to describe my style) but there is still an air of coolness and edge in their pieces and that is a balance which is hard to find.
The spring collection is wonderful. Using colour blocking and minimal lines as well as floaty, feminine shapes.
