The Hugo Boss Summer Party...

I was lucky enough to recently be invited to the Hugo Boss Summer Party at London Fashion Week's home, Somerset House and boy, am I glad.

The early evening saw a crowd of fashion insiders and industry hipsters enjoying cocktails and bubbles whilst enjoying mini roast dinner and mini lemon meringue pie canapés (which, by the way were divine). The beautifully decorated, riverside terrace was buzzing and once the rain ended it was the perfect setting to watch the sun go down.

Next it was on to the after party. Held in the secret tunnels below Somerset House (yes I didn't know this maze of wonder existed down there either), the party was pretty electric. Fun party tunes, hotties and the AW collection being projected onto the industrial, warehouse style wall all added to the perfect way to celebrate another successful year for Hugo Boss.

Super-cool crowd, super-cool night, super-cool brand - thanks to Liane, Daniel and the team at HB (you are ace).

A few favourites from the AW11 collection...

Lanvin AW11 Campaign Video...

I absolutely LOVE this. Finally highend, serious fashion has a funny side. Don't get me wrong, I adore the seriousness (and everything else) about glossy, moody campaigns but this is genius. Love that Lanvin's artistic director, Alber Elbaz has a cameo at the end too.

Happy Tuesday babes...

The Filofax Snapshot Challenge...

I was recently asked to take part in the Filofax Snapshot Challenge, in which bloggers were invited to select a Filofax collection and shoot them creatively in a concept of their choice. I chose to shoot the Malden collection.

My concept was to shoot essential items for each season working around the one thing that's essential all year round- the Filofax.

SPRING

SUMMER

AUTUMN

WINTER

Beware Doll, You're Bound To Fall...

Just a little bit in love with my new vintage trousers, even if they are a little bit 'Rupert The Bear-esque', maybe that's why I love them so?

Top: Topshop, trousers: vintage, belt: sample sale, shoes: Primark, necklace: a gift from my father to my mother, arm candy: H&M

Some Bob for you...

Recent Obsession: Dagmar...

On a recent styling job I came across Swedish brand, Dagmar. It's true to say I'm now obsessed. The AW collection offers classic pieces in fresh cuts and shapes. Silhouettes are stretched and slim whilst layering and multiple textures offer an eclectic and bohemian feel to chic pieces.

IN LOVE - OBVS.

Autumn Dreaming...

A little bit of delicious, autumn wardrobe inspiration to get you through the mid-week slump. If you are feeling the Wednesday burn then feast your eyes on these bad-boys, it's a sure fire way to get you going (I promise).

Images 1-3: Acne AW11, 4-6: Halston Heritage AW11, 7-9: Topshop AW11

As much as I do love the summer (not that we're really having one this year here in the UK), I am far more of an autumn dresser. Layering, mega-heeled boots, furs and knitwear are my true wardrobe loves and mixed with power silhouettes, crisp lines and a nod to feminine glamour, the imminent season ahead is not going to disappoint.

Left My Soul There, Down By The Sea...

I escaped The Big Smoke (aka my beloved London) this weekend. I headed south to pay Mama Coco a long, over-due visit and what a treat it turned out to be. The sun was out, the wine flowed and the fresh mussles (that were caught that very morning) we ate in our favourite bistro were divine.

I am somewhat wishing I was back there at present. Deadlines, new projects and a disgraceful looking inbox are no-where near the relaxation levels that I reached this weekend. Take me back.

Here's some beautiful music for your beautful ears...

London's Burning...

I couldn't really have a London based blog and not mention what has happened in our wonderful city over the last three days. Rioting occurred on Saturday night, continued on Sunday night and came to a head last night when almost every borough was affected by the mindless actions of what appears to be children.

There is no political message and although the initial riots have been linked to the anger of a shooting of a man in Tottenham last week, I genuinely believe that last nights riots are opportunistic and have no real link to the events that occurred in Tottenham.

The majority of the city are shocked by what has occurred in our city whilst I have seen numerous justifications on social networking sites which have only angered me more over this situation. One post stated...

"sick of reading stupid Daily Mail style comments dissing the rioters, obv. alot of you have never experienced real deprivation and are clueless about the disgusting social inequality in this country, life's getting harder every day it was just a matter of time, you can't expect people to be content with having nothing when they can't get stuff legally cos no-one will give them a job. if you have nothing and have a chance to get a free tv or pair of trainers, go for it."

I'm sorry but it's this sort of mornonic mentality which has started this disgusting behaviour in the first place. These people are not fighting for a reason, for freedom, for a political statement or anything else it's purely for the hell of it. What ever background you are from you know what is right or wrong. You know that breaking into old ladies houses while they sleep is wrong. You know that setting fire to buildings is wrong. So in this case there is simply no justification for these actions what-so-ever. Also referring to the above statement found on Facebook - if these people are in fact from more deprived backgrounds then why are they draining the economy with their actions. The amount of cost involved in not only the emergency services last night but the huge clean up operation that will now ensue over London will be a strain on our free health care and education that EVERYONE, from whatever background is entitled to in this country.

Anyway, enough of my rant. Today is a new day and people of London I urge you to make a stand, we shouldn't be scared in our own homes and communities and we shouldn't let the minority of angry people change the way we (and the world) feel about our city. It is a diverse, cultural and creative hub and I am still proud to be a Londoner, especially when I see the footage of the Turkish shop owners fending off the yobs on my own road last night.

Help with the aftermath here.

Recent Obsession: Andreia Chaves...

As my regular readers will know I have a strong admiration for the slightly obscure mixed with femininity as well as a fixation for a statement shoe. With this in mind my love for the 'Invisable Shoe' by the genius that is Brazilian designer, Andreia Chaves is un-matched.

The mirrored pair are a dream and although I am sure I would be the happiest hipster in town should I ever get to walk in these they really deserve to be displayed in a gallery as an artwork in themselves.

Simply magical.
