LFW: Corrie Nielsen AW12

Show two of day one was Corrie Nielsen and what a show it was.

Two huge influences that shone from this collection was Nielsen's distant Scottish heritage and medieval design elements. High necks, intricate folds, ruffles and pleats were exaggerated and mixed with statement silhouettes and classic tartans. It was a real show stopping show and got me going for the rest of the day. A special mention must go to the the final look of the show, that HUGE black ruffle coat, WOW.

LFW Sept 10: The trends...

So, London Fashion Week is over for another season and I can honestly say that this week has been my best yet. Shows, shots and self promotion have been my main points of call this week and I have met some amazing people along the way (more on them later).

First up on the list of things to fill you in on are the emerging street trends which have been hard to ignore this week.
GROWN-UP GRUNGE
90s grunge has been a huge look on the cobbles of Somerset House this season but forget laddered tights and dirty finger nails, this look is clean, sharp and chic. Tailoring is thrown in and layered with long length knitwear. Maxi lengths are key and of course, round sunglasses.

CHECK IT

Tartan and check is yet another look of the season. Forget check shirts, (please- this is one trend we really all must let go of now) and swap it for a tartan or check maxi. Yes checked shirt fans, (I know there are still thousands of you out there, although there really shouldn't be) you can still channel that love for the print but make like a fashion week pro and wear it on a maxi instead.
