Desigual Kiss Tour 2010

Not last week but the week before (yes, I know how late is this post? But better late than never hey?) I hit tower bridge for the Desigual Kiss Tour 2010.

The Spanish highstreet brand invited all walks of life to enjoy 'London's biggest kiss'. The tour started in Paris and is next moving to Berlin before finishing in Madrid. The reality is that the party go-ers were a little younger than myself (perhaps due to it being in a student area of the city) and the music wasn't to my taste but one can not fault the excited vibe that oozed from strangers getting together for a FREE (yes that's right, free) party.

Check out the fun and frolics...

Something for the weekend?

It's Friday and if you're anything like me that means you are looking for some serious tunes to party to. Well look no further...DJ Rags, (better known to me as Raji-Baby) of Work It and Livin' Proof has released his monthly mix of hot tunes and phat beats.
Download it here for, as he puts it, 'an hour of uptempo/downtempo, hi-fi/low-fi, hip-hop, electronica, synthpop, dubstep, OKF, old school garage, rock and soul music.' So whatever your genre de jour is the wonderful Rags has something for you.
Check him out on the decks at Secret Garden Party, Lovebox and Glade festivals this year plus much, much, more.

Heels & Hangovers: Jodie Harsh's Birthday...

Well lovely readers, lack of posts have been a must these past few weeks, I have been in a whirl wind of work, parties, shoots and champagne - oh what a hard life it is sometimes.

Last week saw the birthday party of the fabulous drag queen/performance artist Jodie Harsh. The decadent affair was held in the House of St Barnabas, Soho - where else could be the setting for a Maire Antoinette themed soiree?

Claire & Hayley with the birthday gal
Beautiful cupcakes, strong cocktails and hunks in trunks set the scene with DJ sets from the talented lot at PPQ.

Just as I had found my feet (and my confidence- thanks to the strong cocktails) an uber excited friend came to inform me that none other than fashion royalty, Matthew Williamson had walked in and it appeared that after a few of the fore mentioned strong cocktails, he had a right old boogie too!

Claire with Matthew Williamson, a shout out is necessary to the lovely Claire for sharing her photos (x)
Gaga- esque/inspired outfits were in abundance and top stars go to those 'ladies' in 7 inch heels and even taller wigs.
A perfectly apt way to start my favourite time in London...fashion week.

2009 in pictures...

Well hello lovely readers, apologies for being rather aloof with my posting. I have been in the depths of many a Christmas party, lots of food, presents, family games and a rather large quantity of gin and tonic (well if you can't at Christmas, when can you?). But I'm back and seeing as it's New Years Eve tomorrow I thought I would take a look back through the monumental moments of 2009 (in no particular order!).

We had snow in January...

Seeing Britney and those fabulous costumes was an impressive way to start the summer...

Florence Welch. Yes, I know, I talk about her quite a lot but by god she deserves it. This year she has shot to fame with her ridiculously outstanding album; Lungs. She hit the festival scene in a big way, playing hedonisticly in the most innovate and brilliantly bonkers outfits. Missing her at Glasto was a low point of '09 but seeing her and getting to meet her backstage at Lovebox a month later was a big high point.

Another moment of Lovebox that I shall cherish is seeing Ladyhawke's set- a sneaky half an hour that I spent backstage with The Boy.

Another thing that I seem to somewhat gabble on about is Glastonbury, but it was a fantastic highlight of the year. I shan't say much as I think I have said it all but will leave you with some of my photos from this year's event...

The shoulder- the most important and my favourite trend of 2009. A round up of the year wouldn't quite be right without a mention...

Cycle chic has been popular in European cities for years but it has taken off in London in a big way this year. Pashley bikes are rife in the capital along with many a statement bike. Of course as you know, I well and truly jumped on that band wagon by customising my own bike.

A huge shock and a loss to music and the world was that Michael Jackson died this year. After dedicating a post to him at the time, I will just give a brief nod to the obvious yet iconic parts of MJ style...

My hair cut...not monumental but a style moment of my year all the same...

My final festival and close to yet another great summer was SW4. Boiling hot weather, gastronomic amounts of Pimms, some of the world's best DJs and a big group of friends...what could be better?

Seeing Friendly Fires with The Boy, another musical highlight...

When Coco met Carine...snapping the Editor of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld was a magnificent and terrifying moment of the year...

Attending my first show at fashion week was a monumental moment for me...

The bStore show
The September Issue, hit our screens. A tiny insight into the realms of the life of Anna Wintour and the team at American Vogue. I loved it and only wish I was a fly on the wall before the edit.

I saw one of my favourite DJs; Deadmau5 at The Roundhouse, Camden...another great night, another hangover (!)...

Along with dancing to some great live music, I snapped a hell of a lot of 'knarly dudes' at Freeze; London's annual snow and music festival.

A somewhat indulgent entry, yet extremely exciting moment of 2009 was being featured on the street chic section of vogue.com...

I also shot some fantastically dressed strangers on the street. Thanks to all who have posed for me, here are a few favourites...

All-be-it a brief round-up, that's it for 2009. How odd it seems to be able to sum it up so quickly. But here comes 2010 and I anticipate much more fun, frolics and fabulous fashion...Happy New Year all!

Fur and Fairisle at London Freeze...

Apologies beautiful followers for the distinct lack of posts, I have have had The Boy's birthday, lots of work and a hell of a lot of partying to contend with!
I also hit London Freeze; an alternative snow sports and music festival held at London's Battersea Power Station. Armed with my camera I went to shoot the 'dudes' and the 'trendies' to see who was wearing what.

Sports and street wear was the general look de jour for the guys. Bold colours and prints were favoured with an individual flair thrown into each look.

For the girls there was a slightly more glam feel but sport/street wear was still strong. Fur was favoured along with graphic prints.

Fairisle prints were popular for both guys and girls and everyone was oozing with laid back yet stylish charm.

After watching some 'knarly' (please excuse me for saying knarly- it's quite apt I think you'll agree?) tricks on the slopes we headed to one of the bars which was pumping out the tunes, getting us ready for the main event...dub step duo; Chase & Status.

Chase & Status played a punchy and electric live set avec live band as well as decks and brought out special guests, Brit grime rapper, Kano and Plan B. The crowd were enthralled and encapsulated by the set and they were well worth the wait (even if I as so cold I couldn't feel my toes!)
We were due to stay and see favourite Friendly Fires but decided to leave early and on a high before the frostbite set in!
