Sale Picks

It's sale time! Oh I do love a good sale, I seem to spend hours trawling websites, drawing up wish lists and convincing myself that spending too much money is 'ok' because the pieces I am buying are half the original price.

Here are a few of my favourite picks that are up for grabs this season...

Bitching and Junkfood

I have recently stumbled upon Bitchingandjunkfood.com and it's love.

Set up by two east London girls the site sells carefully selected vintage pieces (not just the same old tat found down Brick Lane) along with the site's two lines, 'Remade' and 'Two Weeks'.

There are some rather lust-worthy pieces to be had along with rather lovely price tags to boot. Get clicking my friends.

A few of my favourites...

Warehouse & BFC Design Competition

Highstreet retailer Warehouse have once again teamed up with the British Fashion Council Colleges Council to find new design talent. The competition is now in it's third year and for the first time the panel were not only searching for a designer but a photographer too.

Fashion graduates were invited to present their final collections to a panel of industry insiders including Lisa Byrne (Design Director) and Sue Vyse (Deputy MD) from Warehouse, Anne Tyrell (BFC Chair), Caroline Rush (BFC CEO), Tiffanie Darke (Editor at the Sunday Times Style) and Celestine Cooney (Stylist). The panel selected one design graduate, Shivani Chavda's collection to be put into production and sold nationally in Warehouse stores. Emily Smeaton was the photography winner and she has photographed the national marketing campaign shots for the collection.

Both winners will join Warehouse for a six month placement in which they will watch their collection develop from the initial designs to the marketing launch.

The collection named 'In My Wildest dreams' is bright, bold and feminine. I love the tropical impact prints and the clash of cropped tees and maxi lengths. Inspirations were taken from exotic animals and surreal art merging together. It is available in selected Warehouse stores and online from today.

Congratulations to the winners and to Warehouse for continuing such a great initiative.

Chanel Couture AW11...

A separate post was needed to give the credit to my favourite collection of Paris Couture Week.

It was Chanel.

There are no words I can use to sum up how I feel about the collection but I will say that it gives me an overall sense of happiness and leaves me with only one thought, " what can I do to earn the money to own these pieces?".

Well done Karl, you've done it again.

Look Du Jour...

Today's look came from the age old predicament...the sun was out but I feared my legs were not completely 'summer ready' especially as my diet has somewhat taken a rest this week. With this in mind I opted for a trusty maxi.

Rainy Sunday On Brick Lane...

Oh Vero, my new wardrobe hero

So folks, as you may have read I have been one lucky bloggette this month as I was fortunate enough to have been sent some clothes from highstreet hero, Vero Moda. They are launching their London flagship store on Thursday at 179 Oxford Street. If you haven't already, book a half day off work to prepare yourself for the occasion. Not only will you most certainly be browsing for some time but you will then face the predicament of choosing between that leather dress or the suede shorts, (or maybe you will treat yourself to both?).
Either way you will certainly need to be there first thing as the first 100 shoppers will win a 'gold bag'. The gold bag entitles you to a free outfit at the store so get an early night on Wednesday and beat those queues!
Below are some lovely pieces from their 'Very' range, which I am in fact, in love with.

The black, tailored jumpsuit - a classic.

The tailored, satin panelled skirt is a fun way to wear tailoring by day. I will be rocking mine with rock band tees and wooly tights.
And...my absolute favourite, the cream, cable knit cardi. I can sense already that this will my staple knit of the season, love those structured shoulders.
