The Olympics

It would be pretty weird to be based in London and NOT talk about The Olympics, so here goes...

As someone who is not a huge sports fan, I really wasn't fussed about The Games. The first spark (see what I did there?) of interest was when The Torch came past our flat in Shoreditch. Then came the opening ceremony and next came the obsession. I was hooked throughout the entire thing and thought The Games brought a real buzz to London.

I loved that the usual spots were adorned with Olympic accessories, here are a few snaps...

The Hugo Boss Summer Party

Last week I was lucky enough to attend the annual Hugo Boss summer party for the second year in a row and once again, it was great. I thought it would be hard to top last year's venue (it was held in the underground crypts of Somerset House) but when I reached The Saatchi Gallery I realised that maybe it could be done.

Here are a few (hazy) memories...

You can check out the full BOSS Black AW12 campaign here, but here are a few of my favourites...

Thanks to the team at Hugo Boss for a great night x

Temperley Ophelia SS12 collection

Today, the news has come that one of my favourite British designers, Alice Temperley is launching a new store in Mayfair. Temperley will open on 27 Bruton Street, in November 2012 and will be six floors of Temperley heaven, playing home to all three collections, ALICE by Temperley, Temperley London and two floors of Temperley Bridal.

Speaking of Temperley Bridal, way back in January (yes this is a tardy post) I was lucky enough to go to the Temperley Bridal press launch of the SS12 collection- Ophelia, and what a collection it was...

I'm lusting after this cape big-time.

Wolf & Badger's Dover Street store launch

I have championed Wolf and Badger from the get-go. Not just another fashion boutique, W and B promote, support and most importantly- stock emerging and independent design. The carefully (and brilliantly) curated selection of womens and menswear, jewellery, accessories and even home wear is enough to make even the biggest stylista's mouth water and their store concepts are pretty easy on the eye too.

What's most impressive about this wonderful brand is it's age. It was not long ago that Wolf and Badger was just a twinkle in the co-owner's (and brothers) Henry and George Graham's eyes and it has now just opened it's second London store on the coveted retail space that is Dover Street, Mayfair.

I was lucky enough to hit the launch party this week, here's what I saw...

As you may know from previous posts, I'm also a fan of Gerogia Hardinge so you can imagine my excitement to see that her A-Mazing SS12 collection is now being stocked at the store (goodbye savings account).

In the sunshine

Saturday saw the sun in London which caused me to celebrate with a flash of midriff. Obviously this was teamed with high waisted trousers, long sleeves and a floor length kimono (I'm not that brave!).

As some of you may know I have a severe love for kimonos and I found this beauty in The Kimono Shop, Soho on my recent trip to New York. I spent about two hours in there discussing my shared love of kimonos with the lovely lady that worked in there (apologies to The Boy, he was very patient).

This one is silk and from the 1940s, I love it. I love the colours and the unusual geometric print. It's great.

I also got the chance to wear my Lennon shades (also bought in New York, which I also love.)

What did you get up to in the sun this weekend?
