DIY 'aint usually my bag

As the title of this post clearly states, DIY isn't usually my thing but after lusting after a black leather clutch big enough to fit things I need to take to the office but not finding one I liked, I realised I was going to have to get my sewing machine out.

It was super-simple to make. I bought the fabric from Shepard's Bush market (my personal favourite place for fabric and haberdashery in London- there is a really wide selection and it's much cheaper then Berwick Street) and a couple of zips, ran it through the sewing machine and 'hey-presto'.

Alice Dellal for Chanel

Chanel's latest tantalising campaign has been released, this time for their newest must-have; the Boy Bag. Fronting this luscious piece is the even more luscious, Alice Dellal and may I just say, she's doing it very well.

I'm loving the combination of obvious Chanel charm and 'off-beat Shoreditch kid' that Dellal does so well.

Shot by Karl himself, this is definitely a campaign that I can't stop staring at this week.

Serious Swoon

Having a massive Saturday morning swoon from the comfort of my dressing gown, (oh the glamour) over Charlotte Olympia.

Why, oh why do I not own these ridiculously a-mazinging pieces? If anyone fancies buying me a gift for no particular reason I am specifically in love with the acrylic and feather box clutches, they are just delish.

Check out the rest of the equally wonderful collection here.

The M&S Mad Hatter Tea Party

I'm taking a quick break from the fashion week coverage to let you know what else I got up to last week.

Thursday night; a week of birthday fun, a week of high heels at LFW and a day shooting...I'll be honest, I was pretty much ready for bed but I headed over to Kettners in Soho and thank the lord I did!

I was there for the Marks & Spencer's blogger event: The Mad Hatter's Tea Party and it was great.

I will start by telling you that being greeted at the door with a delightful cocktail named the 'Mad-Hatten' kicked off the proceedings perfectly (the thought of my aching feet were a distant memory within minutes).

I then glided around the beautifully merchandised product to take in M&S's AW and Christmas shoe and accessory offerings. It was literally like walking through Aladdin's cave with chunky knits, opulent faux-furs, glistening jewellery and some serious shoes everywhere my eye landed.

There was a LBD challenge where we were given a plain black dress and a heap of accessories to go wild with to create the best look. Here are my results...

Kettners was the perfect venue for the quintessential British brand to hold such a lovely event and it was super nice to see some of the girls from the PR team. We were lucky enough to select a pair of shoes from the AW collection of our choice, more on that later.

For Christmas gift ideas (or if you just fancy a treat) make sure you head to M&S to add that perfect 'je nais se quoi' to your look.

Shop M&S here.

Many thanks to Jess, Laura and the rest of the team. xx

LFW: Day 5: The Outfit

This season I missed the Sunday and Monday at fashion week. Unfortunately work commitments came to ahead and I needed to chain myself to my laptop as I had looming deadlines.

My final day to hit the cobbles at Somerset House was Tuesday. I went for a bit of colour as the sun was out (well it was in the morning anyhow).

Blouse and necklace: Topshop, leather trousers and jacket: vintage, bag Chanel, boots: New Look Limited Edition.

Many thanks to the lovely David at The Nyanzi Report for the images (he's a darl).

Event: New Look AW11 Press Day...

WHAT: New Look AW11 Press Day
WHERE: One Mayfair
DRANK: Bubbles

New Look's autumn/winter offerings were pretty impactful if I'm honest. For all those New Look shoes fans out there (myself included) next season's collections will fail to disappoint with a hefty selection of boots, wedges and brogues. The new Idol range was being shown and it is right up my street. Glam rock, with feminine and vintage twists embellished with lots of fringing and stud detailing- PERFECT.

LFW: Day 2: Angel Jackson

During day two of LFW, I popped to see one my absolute favourite bag designers - Angel Jackson's latest offerings...and the collection did not disappoint.

A beautiful mix of leather and metal embellishment featured throughout the new collection and a huge amount of attention to detail has been paid with the satchels (my personal favourite and definitely on the LFW wish list) having embellished panels on the shoulder straps.

Distressed leather, metal coins and beading and sleek clutches were also seen.

Bravo AJ, bravo.
