Love

Happy New Year dear readers!

It may have appeared that I have been slacking on my blogging duties of late, but the truth be told I have just been having too much fun living. Sometimes to pause one's life to share it will mean missing out on something else which is why I have been aloof for a while.

This year is going to be very much about love.

My wonderful friend Sarah-Leigh is getting married and two other girlies in my pack are planning their nuptials after Christmas engagements. One of these engagements is my beautiful, best pal; Ria, who has asked me to be her maid of honour- cue ridiculously high squeals and lots of tears. I have got over the initial bit of crying every time I look at her and we are moving on to talking PLANS.

So what else can you expect from the blog this year? Well, I'm sharpening it up a little, I won't be posting about the same old fashion jargon (don't get me wrong, as someone who works in fashion, I understand the importance of it all, I'm just a little over regurgitating the same content as everyone else) I will however be sharing an inside look at my work, trips, vibes and all in between. Focusing on photography and the things I like rather than the things people expect from a fashion blog.

THIS WON'T BE JUST ANOTHER FASHION BLOG.

Thanks for stopping by in 2012 and here is to another great year. xx

Bitching and Junkfood

I have recently stumbled upon Bitchingandjunkfood.com and it's love.

Set up by two east London girls the site sells carefully selected vintage pieces (not just the same old tat found down Brick Lane) along with the site's two lines, 'Remade' and 'Two Weeks'.

There are some rather lust-worthy pieces to be had along with rather lovely price tags to boot. Get clicking my friends.

A few of my favourites...

Be Mine...

After lusting for what seems like my whole life (real time- about three months) I still want the burgundy, Litas by Jeffrey Campbell. They are affordable (which makes the fact that I don't own them even more ridiculous), I just seem to find other things to spend my pay cheques on (Glastonbury, vintage dressing gowns, appletinis and magazines- to name a few recent purchases). These really must be my next purchase, I can feel my happiness slipping away every time I realise that I STILL don't own them.

I do hope The Boy is reading this as it is my birthday soon - hint, hint.

Ode To Helmut...

Helmut Newton most certainly hits my top-five favourite fashion photographers of all time. His black and white, erotic and Parisian-esque chic images still get me as excited as they did the first time I saw his work. His work reflects a time when true glamour and sophistication was in abundance, models were chic and sexy and the photographer was god.

New Obsession: Sam Edelman

I literally LOVE shoes (a girl who works in fashion liking shoes? What a surprise).

Mega heels and wedges are my weapons of choice and the more impactful and statement the better. If you are like me then you will also LOVE New York shoe designer, Sam Edelman.

Edelman has literally read my shoe mind for his AW11 collection, I would kill for almost each and every pair (including some of the flats - which I never get excited about).

Pony skin, quilted leather, panelling, metal detailing, studs, spikes, wedges, stacked chunky heels (need I go on?)...basically he ticks every box on a heel wearer's AW wish list. I need to start pushing links over to The Boy in time for my birthday in September for the updated version of last year's 'Zoe boots' they are magical and I think they may have pushed my top birthday present (Jeffery Campbell's Lita's) off the top spot of the wish list.

The Zoe boot

Sam Edelman are represented by 1927 in London and can be bought in Selfridges, My Wardrobe and ASOS.

LFW: Day 2: Angel Jackson

During day two of LFW, I popped to see one my absolute favourite bag designers - Angel Jackson's latest offerings...and the collection did not disappoint.

A beautiful mix of leather and metal embellishment featured throughout the new collection and a huge amount of attention to detail has been paid with the satchels (my personal favourite and definitely on the LFW wish list) having embellished panels on the shoulder straps.

Distressed leather, metal coins and beading and sleek clutches were also seen.

Bravo AJ, bravo.

It's love: Mary Katrantzou SS11

So fashion week has been and gone. Now I am well and truly back to normal life again my mind casts back to that wonderful time, where our fair city was full of the elite from the fashion and style worlds and where I started drawing up my wish list for SS11.

One show that I can't seem to shift from my mind is Mary Katrantzou's. Her extreme mix of structure, graphic prints and femininity were enthralling and as for THOSE lampshade skirts...well I can honestly say I have totally fallen for them. Chic, futuristic and just brilliant, my favourite has to be the blue and yellow fringe trimmed skirt, love the entire head-to-toe look.
