Sale Picks
It's sale time! Oh I do love a good sale, I seem to spend hours trawling websites, drawing up wish lists and convincing myself that spending too much money is 'ok' because the pieces I am buying are half the original price.
Here are a few of my favourite picks that are up for grabs this season...

Oh Michael
Why oh why do I have to stumble across these Michael Van Der Ham trousers for Topshop? I can't buy these beauties now, not right before Christmas and the dreaded tax bill...or can I?
Someone keep me away from Oxford Circus.

You Make Me Live Now Honey
What a delightful autumnal afternoon I've had. Strolling around in the seasonal splendor that is the juxtaposition of warm sunshine and crisp air, with my lovely friend was the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Especially when sporting some of my new and favourite autumn pieces.
Trench (thanks to The Boy) and leatherette trousers: Topshop, silk slip: nightwear circa 1995 (god, I keep hold of things for way too long), draped tee: Primark, boots (again, thanks to The Boy): Office.
Here's a great song for those ears of yours...

The M&S Mad Hatter Tea Party
I'm taking a quick break from the fashion week coverage to let you know what else I got up to last week.
Thursday night; a week of birthday fun, a week of high heels at LFW and a day shooting...I'll be honest, I was pretty much ready for bed but I headed over to Kettners in Soho and thank the lord I did!
Thursday night; a week of birthday fun, a week of high heels at LFW and a day shooting...I'll be honest, I was pretty much ready for bed but I headed over to Kettners in Soho and thank the lord I did!
I was there for the Marks & Spencer's blogger event: The Mad Hatter's Tea Party and it was great.
I will start by telling you that being greeted at the door with a delightful cocktail named the 'Mad-Hatten' kicked off the proceedings perfectly (the thought of my aching feet were a distant memory within minutes).
I then glided around the beautifully merchandised product to take in M&S's AW and Christmas shoe and accessory offerings. It was literally like walking through Aladdin's cave with chunky knits, opulent faux-furs, glistening jewellery and some serious shoes everywhere my eye landed.
There was a LBD challenge where we were given a plain black dress and a heap of accessories to go wild with to create the best look. Here are my results...
Kettners was the perfect venue for the quintessential British brand to hold such a lovely event and it was super nice to see some of the girls from the PR team. We were lucky enough to select a pair of shoes from the AW collection of our choice, more on that later.
For Christmas gift ideas (or if you just fancy a treat) make sure you head to M&S to add that perfect 'je nais se quoi' to your look.

Many thanks to Jess, Laura and the rest of the team. xx

LFW: Day 2: The Outfit
I have pinched the images of my look from day two from the super talented Ama Samra's blog: Haptic check out her extensive LFW coverage and extremely good runway photography when you get the chance, she rocks.
I took my absolute, favourite recent wardrobe addition, the kimono, on it's first major voyage and I can't explain to you how much I love it. I really need to share an image with you of the back because that really is where the magic happens.
Kimono and trousers: vintage, top: Topshop, necklace: Warehouse, boots: Aldo, bag: Chanel.

Warehouse & BFC Design Competition
Highstreet retailer Warehouse have once again teamed up with the British Fashion Council Colleges Council to find new design talent. The competition is now in it's third year and for the first time the panel were not only searching for a designer but a photographer too.
Fashion graduates were invited to present their final collections to a panel of industry insiders including Lisa Byrne (Design Director) and Sue Vyse (Deputy MD) from Warehouse, Anne Tyrell (BFC Chair), Caroline Rush (BFC CEO), Tiffanie Darke (Editor at the Sunday Times Style) and Celestine Cooney (Stylist). The panel selected one design graduate, Shivani Chavda's collection to be put into production and sold nationally in Warehouse stores. Emily Smeaton was the photography winner and she has photographed the national marketing campaign shots for the collection.
Both winners will join Warehouse for a six month placement in which they will watch their collection develop from the initial designs to the marketing launch.
The collection named 'In My Wildest dreams' is bright, bold and feminine. I love the tropical impact prints and the clash of cropped tees and maxi lengths. Inspirations were taken from exotic animals and surreal art merging together. It is available in selected Warehouse stores and online from today.
Congratulations to the winners and to Warehouse for continuing such a great initiative.

Autumn Dreaming...
A little bit of delicious, autumn wardrobe inspiration to get you through the mid-week slump. If you are feeling the Wednesday burn then feast your eyes on these bad-boys, it's a sure fire way to get you going (I promise).
Images 1-3: Acne AW11, 4-6: Halston Heritage AW11, 7-9: Topshop AW11
As much as I do love the summer (not that we're really having one this year here in the UK), I am far more of an autumn dresser. Layering, mega-heeled boots, furs and knitwear are my true wardrobe loves and mixed with power silhouettes, crisp lines and a nod to feminine glamour, the imminent season ahead is not going to disappoint.

(it was a no alcohol day for me - yes they do exist)
The Bestseller AW11 press day displayed a great mix of autumnal treats with seventies flare and lots of black and leather which is always a winner.
