The January 2012 wish list

A few things I'm dreaming about this week. It's a darn shame I don't have bags of cash sitting around really.

2. Nicolas Kirkwood for Rodarte light up heels (amaze) circa AW11
3. Stella McCartney Winter 2011
4. Jil Sander Spring 2012
5. Costume National SS12
6. Maria Black jewellery

You Make Me Live Now Honey

What a delightful autumnal afternoon I've had. Strolling around in the seasonal splendor that is the juxtaposition of warm sunshine and crisp air, with my lovely friend was the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Especially when sporting some of my new and favourite autumn pieces.

Trench (thanks to The Boy) and leatherette trousers: Topshop, silk slip: nightwear circa 1995 (god, I keep hold of things for way too long), draped tee: Primark, boots (again, thanks to The Boy): Office.

Here's a great song for those ears of yours...

Sinner

I have been a bad blogger.

Numerous things have played havoc with my blogging routine of late and for this I can only apologise. What I will say is that there are many exciting things in the pipeline; workwise and sometimes these things take precedent (no rest for the wicked hey? - Well at least the self employed), not to say I don't love each and every hit I get and that some of you choose to come back and see me again.

I will be back to normal very soon so please bare with me, I'm just feeling a bit crazed. Maybe even as crazy as this awesome shot of Helena Bonham Carter for Marc Jacobs AW11...

The M&S Mad Hatter Tea Party

I'm taking a quick break from the fashion week coverage to let you know what else I got up to last week.

Thursday night; a week of birthday fun, a week of high heels at LFW and a day shooting...I'll be honest, I was pretty much ready for bed but I headed over to Kettners in Soho and thank the lord I did!

I was there for the Marks & Spencer's blogger event: The Mad Hatter's Tea Party and it was great.

I will start by telling you that being greeted at the door with a delightful cocktail named the 'Mad-Hatten' kicked off the proceedings perfectly (the thought of my aching feet were a distant memory within minutes).

I then glided around the beautifully merchandised product to take in M&S's AW and Christmas shoe and accessory offerings. It was literally like walking through Aladdin's cave with chunky knits, opulent faux-furs, glistening jewellery and some serious shoes everywhere my eye landed.

There was a LBD challenge where we were given a plain black dress and a heap of accessories to go wild with to create the best look. Here are my results...

Kettners was the perfect venue for the quintessential British brand to hold such a lovely event and it was super nice to see some of the girls from the PR team. We were lucky enough to select a pair of shoes from the AW collection of our choice, more on that later.

For Christmas gift ideas (or if you just fancy a treat) make sure you head to M&S to add that perfect 'je nais se quoi' to your look.

Shop M&S here.

Many thanks to Jess, Laura and the rest of the team. xx

Chanel AW11: Shade Parade...

I'm interrupting the LFW coverage to share yet another fun and lighthearted AW11 campaign video from another fashion-heavy-hitter, this time Chanel.

Shade Parade is a video created to showcase the brand's nail colours for the season and I think they've done it brilliantly.
LOVE IT- OBVS.

The Hugo Boss Summer Party...

I was lucky enough to recently be invited to the Hugo Boss Summer Party at London Fashion Week's home, Somerset House and boy, am I glad.

The early evening saw a crowd of fashion insiders and industry hipsters enjoying cocktails and bubbles whilst enjoying mini roast dinner and mini lemon meringue pie canapés (which, by the way were divine). The beautifully decorated, riverside terrace was buzzing and once the rain ended it was the perfect setting to watch the sun go down.

Next it was on to the after party. Held in the secret tunnels below Somerset House (yes I didn't know this maze of wonder existed down there either), the party was pretty electric. Fun party tunes, hotties and the AW collection being projected onto the industrial, warehouse style wall all added to the perfect way to celebrate another successful year for Hugo Boss.

Super-cool crowd, super-cool night, super-cool brand - thanks to Liane, Daniel and the team at HB (you are ace).

A few favourites from the AW11 collection...

Lanvin AW11 Campaign Video...

I absolutely LOVE this. Finally highend, serious fashion has a funny side. Don't get me wrong, I adore the seriousness (and everything else) about glossy, moody campaigns but this is genius. Love that Lanvin's artistic director, Alber Elbaz has a cameo at the end too.

Happy Tuesday babes...

Recent Obsession: Dagmar...

On a recent styling job I came across Swedish brand, Dagmar. It's true to say I'm now obsessed. The AW collection offers classic pieces in fresh cuts and shapes. Silhouettes are stretched and slim whilst layering and multiple textures offer an eclectic and bohemian feel to chic pieces.

IN LOVE - OBVS.

Autumn Dreaming...

A little bit of delicious, autumn wardrobe inspiration to get you through the mid-week slump. If you are feeling the Wednesday burn then feast your eyes on these bad-boys, it's a sure fire way to get you going (I promise).

Images 1-3: Acne AW11, 4-6: Halston Heritage AW11, 7-9: Topshop AW11

As much as I do love the summer (not that we're really having one this year here in the UK), I am far more of an autumn dresser. Layering, mega-heeled boots, furs and knitwear are my true wardrobe loves and mixed with power silhouettes, crisp lines and a nod to feminine glamour, the imminent season ahead is not going to disappoint.
