Gig Review: Deadmau5

Last night my ladies and myself headed out for a girlie night out to see uber talented and banging DJ, Deadmau5. The gig was held at Camden's The Roundhouse and was a great venue for the event. Deadmau5 (real name; Joel Zimmerman) is famed for his dark, progressive electro house mixing and has won critical acclaim from peers such as Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto, his skill and production is second to none and it's no surprise that Beatport has awarded him 'The Greatest DJ Ever' award two years running.

The set was electric and fully charged from the get go. He started on quite a trancey vibe and then ended on a pounding techno note. The trademark mouse head was worn throughout and he played a great mix of his famed track 'The Reward is Cheese' mixed with Daft Punk's Harder Better Faster Stronger.

It was a great gig and beat last time I saw him at Wireless 08 by a mile.
